Temptress

Read the title then please note the gratuitous use of Temporary tattoos. Sorry, I thought it was funny.

vital force

Another of those fabulous illustrations from the children's medical book I found. Fantastic colours.

Fleur

Continuing in yesterday's vein of tonal images.  This is something I am eager to explore when I can get the collage stuff out again. Currently my workspace is full of cartoons and a pack of lunatic dogs wanting to go for a walk.

Tropical night

Summer is on the way and the days are getting noticeably longer. Makes me think of the hot, humid perfumed nights of mid-summer. Trouble is, once they arrive, so do the mosquitoes!

Lazy day

This card is one of a number that I sent out recently.  However, South Africa is in week ten of a Post Office worker's strike so who knows where my mail is.  My PO box has also been empty for a while so I'm looking forward to a treat when the strike ends.  Strikes in SA tend to be a bit different to those in other countries, as you can see below.

Galaxy

I don't have a set style for my collages. I prefer to just let them 'evolve' as they go.  This was probably influenced by that wonderful painter Raymond Saunders.

Chinese ivy

This card was one of literally dozens of half finished pieces that I lose and rediscover in my studio. I was on the brink of just chucking it in the bin when I serendipitously opened the right magazine on the right page. A flurry of tearing and gluing ensued and done - one more for the mailbox.

topical topography

I've bought a book of topographical maps of South Africa some time ago and have been using pages to make distinctive envelopes for my mail art.  These two collagy throw aways were made from left over scraps. Waste not a bit is the wise collagists motto.
